  4. use.  Copying or redistribution in any manner for personal or 
  5. corporate gain is not permitted.

  8. Institution retains any rights, including possible copyright, 
  9. which it may have in data, files, and/or the images they

  90. These image files have been produced by the Smithsonian 
  91. Institution's Office of Printing & Photographic Services, and 
  92. are made available through a generous grant from the Apple 
  93. Library of Tomorrow Program, under Project Chapman (named for 
  94. John Chapman, a.k.a. "Johnny Appleseed").

  96. These images cover topics ranging from air and space to 
  97. science, technology, history, and even current events.  These 
  98. images are designed to give the user who cannot come to 
  99. Washington, the opportunity to see and learn about many of 
  100. the Smithsonian's most popular and important objects and 
  101. exhibits.

  103. These images cover a broad spectrum of interests which we 
  104. hope will interest our electronic audience.  Here we are able 
  105. to present photographs from many of our museums on the Mall 
  106. in Washington, D.C. plus other Smithsonian bureaus such as 
  107. the National Zoo and the Smithsonian Astrophysical 
  108. Observatory.

  110. Starting with some of the best of our photography, all 
  111. scanning and image preparation is done in our Electronic 
  112. Imaging Laboratory to insure each file meets our standards.  
  113. In addition to the image, extensive captions are often 
  114. included with each image as part of our mission for the 
  115. "increase and diffusion of knowledge."
